During the years of 2019 to 2023, I was employed by Dana Augustine, Inc., the leading remount jewelry company in the industry. Teams were comprised of one sales person and one jeweler, servicing approximately 40 stores in a given route, which were typically visited quarterly. Mountings and semi-mountings, loose diamonds and gemstones, findings, and finished goods are available in a one-day special event. All modifications, stone setting, sizing, and plating are promised same day as purchase. The jeweler and mobile bench are viewable for customers and staff to watch all work performed. Examples linked below may be all newly purchased product parts or may have some parts provided by the customer. (Melee in semi-mounts are obviously not set by the jeweler on site.) Most center stones require new head and set for appropriate shape and size. Solitaires are built from separate shank and head, as well. Often there are many modifications in the process of customizing. My work partner of three years documented our work sold each night by photographing and posting to Facebook. These images are taken from his social media platform (with his permission), and are therefore stamped with the date performed and his name, Bob Cotton.
