Personal Projects
Need space and equipment to work on creative projects? Desire the ability to create without the usual distractions? Crave comaraderie with other inspired community members? Bench time is bookable by the hour on Tuesdays between the hours of 10am and 9pm. “MakSpac” time is also perfect for finishing up any class projects that may demand a little more time and attention than class provides. Bring your own materials to work with, as they are not offered in this forum, and please note that there is no instruction offered.
Work in any media
Maker’s Space time is not limited to jewelry and metalsmithing. You are welcome to join the The STU community with any media that you like if you feel the equipment available is useful, or you will be bringing your own. Benches may be modified as easels. Reach out to discuss any needs you may have, or if you have any questions regarding tools/ equipment.
Safety & Equipment
It is expected that any equipment used during “MakSpac” time is familiar to its user in order to ensure safety and tool maintenance. Arrangements can be made for direction in use of any equipment unfamiliar to you, although, if you do not have any experience and wish to use the jewelry/ Metalsmithing equipment, it is requested that you attend the Beginning Class first! Participants will be asked to sign a release form prior to working and must be at least 16 years of age.
